The petrol station attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, operating fuel pumps, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. The role also involves handling payments, promoting station products, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Education: Form 4 Certificate (KCSE).
  • Certification: A course in any field (technical, vocational, or professional).
  • Experience: Not mandatory, but prior experience in customer service or retail is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Dispense fuel into vehicles as per customer requests.
  • Assist customers with basic vehicle checks (e.g., oil, tire pressure).
  • Welcome customers and ensure friendly interaction during their visit.
  • Answer customer enquiries and provide information about station services and products.
  • Process cash, mobile money, or card payments accurately and issue receipts.
  • Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift and report discrepancies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the station, including pumps, forecourt, and restrooms.
  • Organise and restock items such as lubricants, snacks, and station products.
  • Upsell station products like oils, car accessories, and car wash services.
  • Inform customers about ongoing promotions and loyalty programs.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines for handling hazardous materials.
  • Report safety issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
