Duties and Responsibilities

An officer at this level will work under guidance of a senior officer. and will also be responsible for the following;

i) Taking medical history,

ii) Examining, diagnosing and treating patients common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient health facility;

iii) Implementing Community Health Care activities in Lias on with other Health Workers

iv) Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff on health issues;

v) sensitizing patients and clients on preventive and Promotive health;

vi) Carrying out minor surgical procedures as per training and skill; and collecting data and compiling clinical data

vii) Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities;

Requirements for Appointment

(i) A mean grade of KCSE C Plain

(ii) Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution;

(iii) Certificate of Registration from the Clinical Officers Council;

(iv) Valid Practicing License from the Clinical Officers Council
