MUNICIPAL PHYSICAL PLANNER One (1) Position JGL (REF; BCPSB/032/2025)

Salary as per SRC

Terms of Service: Three (3) years contract

Duties and responsibilities

i. Preparation Urban Land use plans

ii. Undertake feasibility studies on physical,social, economic and Environmental characteristics

iii. Implementing Physical plans Regional UrbanAreas and Municipalities.

iv. Development of budgets and work plans forurban planning units

v. Coordination of urban planning activities inUrban areas

vi. Preparing action plans for specific projectssuch as residential housing schemes, shopping centres, industrial estates andrecreational facilities.

vii. Providing advice to government and privateagencies on development proposal and plans.

viii. Implementing and providing feedback onphysical and land use planning guidelines and standards.

ix. Undertaking thematic regional studies onmatters relating to physical and land use planning.

x. Managing Municipal Physical planning data.Providing advice on development control.

xi. Carry out public education on physical andland use planning matters.

xii. Preparing annual state of physical planningdevelopment plans

Requirements forappointments-MUNICIPAL PHYSICAL PLANNER

i. Have a Bachelors degree in any of thefollowing disciplines: Urban and Regional Planning, Town Planning from arecognized institution.

ii. Must be registered as a Physical Planner underthe Physical Planners Registration Board (PPRB)

iii. Have served in the grade of Physical Plannerfor a minimum period of four (4) years or cumulative working experience of atleast two (2) years in the relevant field from the public sector or privatesector.

iv. Member of the Kenya Institute of Planners orArchitectural Association of Kenya (Town Planning Chapter)

v. Have a certificate in computer applicationskills from a recognized institution

vi. Certificate in GIS
