OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Under the general direction of the Line Manager, Supervise, Manage and Co-ordinate
the allocated Team of Associate Advocates, Legal Assistants and Claims Officers to
ensure that the highest quality of service is rendered to the company.
KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Management and Co-ordination
 Supervise, manage and co-ordinate, under the general direction of the Line
Manager, the allocated Team of Associate Advocates, Legal Assistants and
Claims Officers ensure that the highest quality of service is rendered to the
Company.
2. Cost Management
 Assist the Line Manager in effectively managing the budget allocated to the
Department and to ensure that the claim expenses within the allocated team

 Manage the legal files stock of the allocated team and ensure that the targets
set by the Company for settlement and closure per Associate Advocate and
claims officer per month is attained.
3. Claim Investigations and Verification
 Conduct a thorough and detailed analysis of claim documents to enable early
fraud detection, and effectively address the fraudulent claims to meet the
guidelines.
4. Court Attendance and Preparation
 Manage and coordinate the Court attendance diaries of the Associate
Advocates and ensure that the available time and resources are effectively
utilized to ensure that the highest standard of service is rendered to the
Company
 Prepare and attend court on all files marked as critical and avail court
attendance reports to the Line Manager.
5. Pleadings and File Management
 Proper management of the legal and claims files in line with the guidelines
established by the client and ensuring that instructions are executed in a
timely and efficient manner to protect the interests of the client.
6. Reports
 Preparation of monthly performance reports for the allocated team and
submitting the same to the Line Manager
 Prepare any other periodical reports on the allocated portfolio of legal files as
may be required or directed by the Line Manager.
7. General Duties.
 Any other duties that maybe assigned from time to time by the Line Manager in
s obligations to the client.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
Academic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from an institution recognized by Commission for
Higher Education
Professional Qualifications
ï‚· Diploma in Law(KSL) and Admission as an Advocate with a current practicing
Certificate;
ï‚· Proficiency in use of computer applications;
Experience
ï‚· At least 4 Years Post Admission experience in Litigation
Skills and Attributes
• Organizational, conceptual and analytical, managerial and decision making skills;
• Ability to get well with diverse workforce;
• Honesty and integrity;
• Positive working attitude;
• Excellent litigation and negotiation skills
• Ability to give and take instruction
