Band : C
Salary : £27,000-£35,000 per annum dependent on relevant skills and experience
Location : Nottingham
This role is advertised as part of our BBC Extend programme for disabled people. To apply for this role you should identify as deaf, disabled or neurodivergent and must meet either: the definition of disability in the Equality Act (2010), or the definition of disability in the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) if applying in Northern Ireland. Job Purpose: Content Producer
Content Producer Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
We’re looking for a driven and passionate producer who wants to help us reach new audiences with the content that matters to them. You’ll know who are target audiences are, and understand what they’re looking for both in digital and linear output. You will be full of creative ideas on how to engage those audiences in new and innovative ways. You’ll know how to turn content around to a tight deadline but be equally comfortable taking on a long term, long form commission too. We’re looking for a producer who enjoys working in a busy news environment, who can collaborate across multiple teams and feel at home with breaking news, human-interest stories and continuing series about our county’s “hidden” secrets. You’ll also have an ability to produce a steady stream of your own original ideas. You will work with teams to make sure the BBC Radio Nottingham schedule is correct with imaging and trails.
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate creativity in producing audio content for both digital and linear platforms and have experience of producing output that can be tailored for publication in a variety of ways. You will also be able to forward plan and contribute to a strategy to maintain BBC Radio Nottingham as the number one station in its marketplace.
You will have an excellent knowledge of what works on social media across all platforms and how to use it to drive audiences to our brand. You’ll be confident using a DAW such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro or Adobe Audition, experience of the BBC ViLOR broadcast desk; Open Media and dira! Digital acquisition, playout and editing software is desirable.
