Job Title: Unit Manager
Department: Sales and Distribution
Location: Nairobi, Thika, Meru, Bungoma
Reports To: Branch Manager/Regional Manager

Job Summary

The Unit Manager is responsible for leading and managing a team of insurance agents or financial advisors to achieve sales targets, enhance customer satisfaction, and ensure operational efficiency. The role requires strong leadership, sales expertise, and a deep understanding of insurance products to drive the team’s success while contributing to the company’s overall growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Team Management and Development
    • Recruit, train, and mentor a team of insurance agents or financial advisors.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback to team members.
    • Organize and lead regular team meetings to track progress and address challenges.
  2. Sales Target Achievement
    • Develop and implement strategies to meet or exceed sales targets for the team.
    • Monitor individual and team performance to ensure productivity and goal alignment.
    • Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities to grow the company’s customer base.
  3. Customer Relationship Management
    • Ensure excellent customer service delivery by the team.
    • Build and maintain relationships with clients to promote customer loyalty and retention.
    • Address customer queries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Training and Product Knowledge
    • Provide regular training and updates on the company’s insurance products, services, and regulatory changes.
    • Ensure team members are well-versed in compliance and ethical sales practices.
  5. Reporting and Analytics
    • Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to management.
    • Analyze market trends and customer needs to recommend improvements to products and strategies.
  6. Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and ethical sales practices.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with sales activities and operations.

Software Developer

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales and team management, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with a track record of motivating teams to achieve targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products, services, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in using CRM tools and sales reporting software.
  • Certification in insurance (e.g., COP, ACII, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
