Job Description:
Airlink, a leading regional airline in South Africa, is seeking a reliable and efficient Cleaner to join our team. As a Cleaner, you will play an essential role in ensuring that our facilities are clean, sanitary, and well-maintained, providing a safe and pleasant environment for both our staff and passengers. This is a hands-on position that requires attention to detail, good physical stamina, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain assigned areas, including offices, lounges, restrooms, and public spaces, ensuring they are hygienic and presentable at all times.
- Dust, sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, clean windows, and empty trash bins regularly.
- Sanitize high-touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, and handrails.
- Ensure that cleaning supplies are stocked and request replacements as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in outdoor areas like walkways and parking lots as required.
- Handle and dispose of waste in accordance with safety and environmental guidelines.
- Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate department.
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and cleanliness protocols.
- Assist with setting up or breaking down spaces for events or meetings as needed.
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude while working with staff and passengers.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Matriculation (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial services is preferred.
- Ability to work with cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.
