DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES-PROCUREMENT ASSISTANT
- Assist in the procurement process by sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices,
- and preparing purchase orders.
- Ensure that purchased items meet company standards and quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all purchases, including invoices, delivery notes,
- and receipts.
- Follow up with suppliers on the status of orders and deliveries to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Coordinate the importation process, including handling customs documentation, clearing,
- and forwarding requirements (if applicable).
- Track and manage inventory to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained, coordinating
- with the warehouse and dispatch teams as needed.
- Provide support in the preparation of procurement reports and other relevant documentation
- for management.
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors, identifying opportunities for cost savings
- and supplier performance improvements.
- Ensure compliance with the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Assist in managing procurement budgets and controlling costs.
KEY REQUIREMENT SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION
- Degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
- Experience handling imports is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in SAP systems for procurement and inventory management.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
